Does Scanics do the scanning at their business site or at the customer site?

All scanning services are completed by the Scanics production team in the Scanics office. However, there are limited exceptions that would allow the Scanics production staff to scan at the customer site.

How are scanning prices calculated? By the box or by the image?

Scanics prices each project based upon the customer specifications and the complexity of the project. Scanics offers pricing by the box or by the image.

Are the customer documents protected by a confidentiality agreement?

An authorized Scanics employee may present to the customer a signed letter of confidentiality, and each worker assigned to a project is required to sign the confidentiality agreement. The customer may request copies of confidentiality agreements for all Scanics workers assigned to the customer's project.

Are customers required to box up their own records or will Scanics handle it?

At the customer's request, Scanics will box up records (according to customer specifications) at the customer site.  The customer may choose to box up their records or documents - at a discounted price - in boxes provided by the customer or Scanics.

Will Scanics remove staples, paper clips, and binding from the documents?

Yes, Scanics will remove all staples, paper clips, binding, etc. from the paper documents in order for these documents to become scan-ready. This is a billable service, and is available from Scanics upon customer request.

 

What is the price per scanned image?

Scanics has multiple billable rates depending on the size of the original paper documents, the volume, the condition of the documents, the document preparation required and post-scan services requested by the customer (indexing, OCR, etc.). Scanics offers billable rates for boxes of paper documents and price-per-image plans.

What is the turnaround time to complete the scanning project?

Depending on the volume and complexity of the documents to be scanned, indexed, and potentially reassembled, the turnaround time can vary from 24 hours for small projects to several months for large scanning projects.

How does Scanics deliver the electronic files to the customer?

Scanics can deliver the electronic files to the customer in a variety of media which may include CD / DVD, flash drive, portable hard drive, FTP, or SILO, depending upon the size of the files and customer preference.

Does Scanics have the ability to scan oversize documents?

Scanics has the ability to scan documents, maps, blueprints, sketches, paintings, etc. up to 42" in width. Contact a Scanics representative for more details.
